MISSINGKIDS.CA COMMUNITY RESPONSE PLAN

Helping communities locate missing children

The Community Response Plan (CRP) is a part of MissingKids.ca – Canada’s missing children resource centre. Owned and operated by the Canadian Centre for Child Protection, MissingKids.ca offers families support in finding their missing child and provides educational materials to help prevent children from going missing. The CRP is designed to help guide communities on how best to assist in the search for a missing child.

SPECIAL THANKS

The CRP is based on the Laura Recovery Center’s Search Manual which was written from the lessons learned during the heart-breaking search for Laura Kate Smither.

Winnipeg Foundation

The CRP was developed thanks in part to a generous grant from the Winnipeg Foundation through its Community Grants Program. The Winnipeg Foundation’s mission is “to be a catalyst for strengthening community well being, now and for future generations, by promoting philanthropy, creating partnerships and supporting diverse charitable organizations.” The Community Response Plan was created in the spirit of this mission statement and is meant to strengthen a community in the face of tragedy.
